Why virtual therapy?
Fair question. I say with full confidence, yes. It does. It works and offers great benefits. There can be tremendous outcomes and growth for both in person and virtual therapy. It truly is personal preference dependent. I always encourage som reflections for clients when deciding between virtual and in person:
What concerns you around one or the other?
What thoughts are coming up around what either virtual or in person is missing?
Do you think you’ll be showing up or or acting any differently in one format vs the other? Anything to learn from this answer?
Does one work better with my current lifestyle/schedule?
At Dovetail, my present value is to offer virtual therapy to meet clients throughout not only Chicago but throughout the state of Illinois, which wasn’t possible before. The flexibility helps decrease other barriers in a dynamic world and your virtual session can be time to anchor you in an otherwise busy day. Maybe thats in-between meetings, from the comfort of your couch, whatever you preference may be- virtual therapy is a great support.
